Each member of Edmonton Global’s Board of Directors brings diverse experience from across the Edmonton Metropolitan Region. With backgrounds in international business, development, marketing, and academia, the board helps guide Edmonton Global in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to a region that is prime for business.

John Day

John Day

Raised in Edmonton, John Day has been a tireless supporter of our capital city and province and has contributed to the business, educational and health sectors in the community for over 35 years.

Traci Bednard

Traci Bednard

Traci Bednard is Vice President Digital and Corporate Communications for Edmonton International Airport. In this executive role, she leads the planning and implementation of corporate strategies to develop passenger and cargo air services, as well as the sales and communications for the company and its various lines of business through EIA’s We’ll Move You brand promise. This includes work around the world to promote our region’s international positioning and business attraction to the Edmonton Capital Region.

Stanford Blade

Stanford Blade

Dr. Blade was born in Alberta where he was raised on a dairy and grain farm, and now serves as Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences (ALES) at the University of Alberta. He previously served as CEO of the Alberta Innovates Bio Solutions Corporation during which time he led the management and disbursement of their investment portfolio worth $75 million, supporting projects totalling $250 million.

Sheldon Hudson

Sheldon Hudson

After being raised on a farm in east-central Alberta, Sheldon began his professional engineering career with Al-Terra Engineering Ltd. in Edmonton following his graduation from civil engineering at the University of Alberta. Sheldon’s career has since elevated to vice president and director of Al-Terra, where he is also the managing partner for the firm’s rural transportation group. Sheldon’s leadership is often sought, which is evidenced by his participation in the governance of the provincial and national consulting engineering industry associations.

Cory Janssen

Cory Janssen

Cory is CEO and co-founder of AltaML, a developer of machine learning applications. Previously, Cory was co-founder of Investopedia.com, a financial education site that provided content and tools to help educate individual investors. From its founding in 1999, Investopedia became one of the most popular financial sites on the web and was sold to Forbes Media in 2007.

Bernie Kollman

Bernie Kollman

Ms. Kollman is currently a Forum Chair of MacKay CEO Forums, leading a peer mentoring group of CEOs and executives to assist with their biggest challenges and to drive stronger business results. Bernie retired from IBM Canada Ltd. serving as Vice President of IBM’s Public Sector business in Alberta for ten years, contributing to that organization for over 30 years. She has been described by clients and colleagues as an independent thinker with high integrity who is also passionate, principled, customer driven, goal oriented and innovative.

Elan MacDonald

Elan MacDonald

As President of IMPACT Consulting, Elan has built a client base of local, national and multi-national corporations. She advises CEO’s and senior leadership teams, leads strategic planning exercises, resolves communications issues and crisis, directs stakeholder engagement and builds advocacy strategies. Elan MacDonald offers a unique perspective among government relations professionals, she has lived, worked and volunteered in Alberta – with Albertans – for her entire career.

Jason Randhawa

Jason Randhawa

Mr. Randhawa is the founder and President of Randhawa Consulting Ltd., a boutique analytics and strategy firm. Prior to this, Mr. Randhawa served as Vice President, Marketing & Sales at Finning (Canada), Chief Marketing Officer/Chief Strategy Officer at SCM Insurance Services, and co-founder and President of First Foundation Mortgage Corporation. Mr. Randhawa currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation and the board of First Foundation Inc.

Darren Rawson

Darren Rawson

Darren started his career with Imperial Oil after graduating from Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta. Since then Darren has enjoyed a diverse career spanning a variety of industries including upstream/downstream oil & gas, industrial chemicals, specialty metals, manufacturing, distribution, and construction. He is a proven executive with 17 years experience as CEO of mid-sized companies including Cougar Drilling Solutions, Hagemeyer Canada (dba CenturyVallen) and Shanahan’s.

Gail Stepanik- Keber

Gail Stepankik- Keber

Gail's professional experience includes twenty five years working at a leadership level, nineteen years of which are with Alberta's Servus Credit Union in Edmonton. She leads a diverse portfolio at Servus including data science, digital banking, innovation, marketing, communications and corporate social responsibility as Chief Brand, Digital Banking and CSR Officer for Canada's second largest member-owned financial cooperative. She previously served on the board of governers for NorQuest College.

Jeffrey Sundquist

Jeffrey Sundquist

Jeffrey serves as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of EDC Environmental Group of Companies, the parent investment company of leading industrial wastewater business Clean Industrial Technologies, water advisory practice International Water Advisors (IWA) and soil remediation company Claytech Services inc. As CEO, he oversees the corporate direction, strategy and execution, focusing on leadership, innovation and customers.

Edy Wong

Edy Wong

A recipient of a Governor General's Medallion (as a bridge builder between Canada and China) and the Chongqing Friendship Award in 2013, Dr. Edy Wong is a researcher and practitioner of international business. In 2012, Dr. Wong was awarded a Fellow's Award by Supply Chain Management Association of Canada and the Garner–Thémoin Award by IFPSCM (International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management).
