After spending 30 years in the military living overseas and across Canada, Malcolm chose the Edmonton Metropolitan Region as the place where his children and grandchildren could achieve their full potential without having to move elsewhere. Formerly the CEO of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board, Malcolm joined the newly-formed Edmonton Global in 2018. He's proud of the region's welcoming and inclusive community. It's a region where people can grow, enjoy and thrive.

Administrative Assistant

Born in Alberta, Madeline has lived here her entire life. When she is not at Edmonton Global working as an administrative assistant, she is busy rowing and volunteering in the community.

Lynette Tremblay

Vice President, Strategy & Innovation

Known for her unique ability to create something out of nothing, Lynette has spent a career advancing major issues and initiatives in 3 Canadian provinces. As Vice President, Strategy and Innovation, she brings her background in politics, communications and strategy together to focus on improving regional competitiveness through innovation, partnerships and strategic foresight. Motivated by community building and big challenges, she drives towards results with determination, seemingly endless energy, and quick wit. You may receive texts or emails from her in the wee hours of the morning while she’s at the gym lifting weights or running. And as a passionate shoe lover, you may never see her wear the same pair of shoes twice.

Office Manager

Amanda has a knack for finding creative solutions. If she doesn’t know something, she knows who does. With over 15 years of hands-on regional experience working with the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA), the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board, and now Edmonton Global, Amanda’s portfolio includes executive and operational support, as well as programs and event management. An enthusiast of triple expresso and non-fiction, Amanda can be found discovering new adventures in literature and movies.

Karra-Lee Gerrits

Vice President, Investment & Trade

Karra-Lee is fascinated by businesses, places, and people. Her love of exploring and learning led to a 20-year career working in Canadian embassies around the world promoting Canada as a place and partner for business. She turned her sights to promoting the Edmonton Metropolitan Region because she wanted to share the exciting things happening here with the world. When she's not globetrotting, you can find her ⁠— depending on the season ⁠— in the garden or cross-country skiing with her kids.

 

Tomas Nilsson

Tomas Nilsson

Director, Research and Marketing Intelligence

Born and raised on a dairy farm in Sweden, Tomas has lived and worked in Edmonton since 2005. He spent over 3 years with the University of Alberta, followed by a 9-year stint with the Government of Alberta in various economic development roles. He joined the Edmonton Global team in November 2018. Tomas has degrees in agriculture and agricultural economics. He spends his days managing the Edmonton Global data lake and, on occasion, writes bite-sized essays on issues that impact businesses in the region.

 
Amanpreet Bhatti

Amanpreet Bhatti

Business Program and Events Coordinator

Amanpreet is a charismatic, driven self-starter with a passion to help organizations grow. Born and raised in Sherwood Park, Alberta, she was drawn to business and hospitality early as she watched her parents succeed in running their own businesses. After completing her BCom degree with a management major, she knew that she wanted to be a leader. When she's not supporting Edmonton Global's business program and events, Amanpreet is pursuing her passions for reading, fashion, travelling, and trying any and every new restaurant or café in the region.

Chris McLeod

Director, Marketing and Communications

An experienced leader and active community volunteer, Chris has a strong track record of bringing people and ideas together. He has an impressive portfolio and expertise in economic development, community-building, marketing, strategy, and business engagement. An avid cyclist and volunteer ski patroler at Jasper's Marmot Basin, you can usually find him flying down the nearest mountain side.

Perry Eddy

Manager, Business Development

Credited for his "gift of gab" since he was a very young child, Perry is passionate about starting conversations and opening doors. He's a relationship-builder who watches for — and listens to — the challenges and needs of people in business. Perry finds opportunities to make business happen⁠ — connecting the dots between capacity and opportunity. As Edmonton Global's Business Development Manager, his function is to attract investment and eliminate barriers to business growth in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region. Around the office, he's also known for his awesome dad jokes.

 
Alyssa Tintinaglia

Alyssa Tintinaglia

Manager, Strategic Initatives

Armed with a psychology degree and a certificate in project management, Alyssa has a knack for turning chaos into order. A go-getter, she uses her experience to successfully manage and execute projects to support Edmonton Global’s strategic initiatives. With a background in the non-profit sector specializing in small business development, she understands the Edmonton Metropolitan Region's unique advantage as a place to start and grow a business. In her spare time you might find her hanging out with her dog, enjoying a good cup of coffee, in a spin class, or researching her next beach getaway.

 

Racquel Araujo-Aikman

Summer Intern

Having lived in Edmonton for only a year, Racquel already considers the region home. Racquel is a Brazilian, educated in both Kuwait and Canada. When she's not supporting key projects, she's enjoying the amazing architecture, food, and events the region has to offer. She credits the Edmonton Metropolitan Region for being welcoming and filled with a variety of kind people ⁠— each sharing a similar passion for advancement and respect for the past.
