January 22, 2019

Edmonton Global is pleased to announce the newest member of the strategic team, Chris McLeod, MBA.

McLeod joins Edmonton Global as the Director of Marketing & Communications, with an impressive portfolio and expertise in economic development, community building, and business engagement.

In 2004, McLeod led and managed all aspects of Edmonton’s Centennial Celebration, which successfully organized 1,200 performers, 400 volunteers, eight staff, and over 180 community and business organizations over the course of 2½ years. This massive public celebration gathered over 130,000 Edmontonians and made the front page of the Edmonton Journal as, “Edmonton’s finest celebration in the last 100 years”.

More recently, McLeod played a significant role in elevating the brand of one of Canada’s largest business schools at Athabasca University. During his time there, McLeod led a high performing team in marketing, sales, advertising, corporate and government relations, digital strategy, international student recruitment, and events management.

McLeod is an experienced leader and active community volunteer, with a strong track record of bringing people and ideas together.

“I am passionate about the future of Alberta and our communities. There are a handful of places in the world with the mix of entrepreneurial energy, economic strength, and courage to tackle the massive opportunities that exist for cities. I believe in the Edmonton Metro Region. What’s happening here, right now, is exciting.”

Chris McLeod will lead his new team to grow the Edmonton Global brand, amplify the region’s story, and drive connections with key stakeholders and international investors.

Please join us in welcoming Chris McLeod.
