Sheldon Hudson P.Eng. MBA

After being raised on a farm in east-central Alberta, Sheldon began his professional engineering career with Al-Terra Engineering Ltd. in Edmonton immediately following his graduation from civil engineering at the University of Alberta in June 1996. In the 20 years that followed, Sheldon’s career has elevated to vice president and director of Al-Terra, where he is also the managing partner for the firm’s rural transportation group. Sheldon lives in the City of Fort Saskatchewan with his wife and four children.

Sheldon’s leadership is often sought, which is evidenced by his participation in the governance of the provincial and national consulting engineering industry associations. His first term on the board of directors for Consulting Engineers of Alberta was from 2011 – 2014, which included position’s on the executive committee where he served as president for the 2012 – 2013 term. In 2016, he was selected to be one of Alberta’s representatives to the national organization, Association of Consulting Engineering Companies, Canada. As an Alberta representative, Sheldon currently sits on the boards of both the provincial and federal industry associations. One of Sheldon’s key successes is his work on the strategy to promote change to public policy for procurement of engineering services.
